As an architectural, interior design, and hospitality photographer, I aim to tell the unique story behind every home I photograph. This project, a stunning vacation home nestled in Pinetop, Arizona, was a collaboration with Lesa Peers, a Park City-based interior designer. Lesa’s clients envisioned an Arizona getaway that would blend modern elegance with a sense of warmth and comfort. Capturing this home allowed me to showcase her ability to bring this vision to life through thoughtful design.

A Warm Welcome: Exterior and Outdoor Space

From the exterior, this home invites you in with its glowing facade, set against the tranquil backdrop of the towering pines. The outdoor seating areas are perfect for relaxing by the fire, offering a serene space to unwind. To highlight these areas, I photographed during twilight, emphasizing how the warm interior lighting contrasts beautifully with the natural surroundings.

Bringing the Outdoors In

The living room is where the home’s design truly shines. Lesa’s use of natural light through expansive windows creates a seamless connection between the indoors and the surrounding forest. The rustic stone fireplace and wood beams bring warmth and texture, while the modern furnishings add a touch of sophistication. My goal in these shots was to capture the openness and inviting ambiance of the space.

A Kitchen Designed for Connection

The kitchen and dining areas are designed for gathering. The light wood cabinetry, spacious island, and modern fixtures make the kitchen both functional and stylish. Adjacent dining spaces offer plenty of room for hosting, with views that further connect the interiors to the outdoors. Photographing these areas allowed me to highlight the balance between practicality and elegance that Lesa’s design embodies.

Serene Bedrooms and Relaxing Bathrooms

Lesa’s talent for creating personal retreats is evident in the bedrooms. Each one is designed with comfort and calm in mind, featuring soft textiles and a neutral palette that reflects the surrounding nature. The spa-like bathrooms, especially the one with a freestanding tub, are equally impressive. My approach here was to capture the details that make these spaces feel inviting and restorative.

The Game Room: A Nod to National Parks

One of the most unique spaces in this home is the game room, inspired by the beauty of America’s national parks. The vibrant artwork adorning the walls serves as both a design focal point and the creative spark for the room’s layout. Comfortable seating and a casual, welcoming vibe make this room perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the outdoors. Capturing the playful yet intentional design of this space was especially rewarding, as it tells a story of its own.

Cozy Corners and Functional Spaces

Beyond the main living spaces, the home features thoughtful touches throughout. The office blends practicality and style, offering a private space that remains visually connected to the rest of the home. Each design choice reflects Lesa’s commitment to balancing functionality with beauty.

Design Vision and Collaboration

Photographing this home was about more than showcasing its beauty—it was about telling the story of Lesa Peers’ creative vision and her clients’ dream for an Arizona retreat. The result is a home that feels both luxurious and deeply personal, blending seamlessly into its forested surroundings.

An Interior Design Photographer’s Reflection

This project stands out not just for the home’s stunning design but for the story it tells—a Park City designer crafting a unique getaway for her clients inspired by nature, family, and relaxation. From the glowing exteriors to the national park-inspired game room, each detail reflects a commitment to creating a space that feels both elevated and inviting.

I hope these images offer a glimpse into the artistry behind this home and inspire you to see the beauty of thoughtful design. Collaborating with talented designers like Lesa Peers is always an honor, and I’m excited to share more stories of exceptional spaces in the future.
